RSUBEB Lauds Church’s Donation Of 100 Desks To PH School

The Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB) has lauded the leadership of Christ Embassy Church in the state for donating 100 writing desks, 12 wooden doors as well as repainting of Port Harcourt Primary School in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, saying that the gesture would enhance educational development of the pupils in the school.
The Executive Chairman of the board, Ven Fyneface Akah, made this commendation while receiving the 100 pieces of the school desks donated by Christ Embassy Church to Port Harcourt Primary School during a brief handing over ceremony at the school premises, last Wednesday.
Akah, who was represented at the brief event by a commissioner in the board in charge of administration, Chief Faith Amaso, thanked the church for the donation, saying that the desks provided would enhance the academic performance of the pupils in the school.
He averred that all hands must be on deck to make the schools’ environment more conducive and attractive for learning to thrive, adding that the vision of the SUBEB was to ensure that every child in the state has access to education.
The state SUBEB boss thanked the Christ Embassy Church for partnering with the board to ensure that schools in the state were provided with the needed facilities to promote efficient learning environment.
Akah used the opportunity to call on other religious bodies and social organisations to emulate the Christ Embassy Church and contribute their quota in the development of the education system in the state.
Speaking while handing over the desks and doors to the board, the Regional Pastor of Christ Embassy, Zone 2, Port Harcourt, Pastor Linda Okocha, who spoke through the Metropolitan Group, Christ Embassy, Zone 2, Pastor Michael Okomuche, said the donation was part of the church’s obligation to contribute to the development of education in the state as well as give back to the society.
Okocha stated that every child needs empowerment, adding that the gesture was an extension of back-to-school programme of the church.
“We used this school for our back-to-school programme, and we discovered the need of the school. So, we approached the school, if we can paint the school, provide 100 desks, and 12 doors. We want our children to learn in good atmosphere so that they can have faith in God”, she stated.
Also speaking, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs Dumeze Leonards, thanked the church for the donation, and promised that they would protect the desks so that they can serve the purpose for which they were provided.
The Director, Social Mobilisation in the board, Mr Ibe Ogwe, one of the old boys of the school, thanked the church for putting smiles on the faces of the pupils, saying that education-for-all was the business of every person.
