FAAN Promises Smooth Operation
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured international airlines of their co-operation to ensure that their operation at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa is smooth.
The Regional Manager of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Mr Uche Nwanguma said, the Authority over ready to assist airlines in providing the needed services as he described Lufthansa as being consistent in its operations.
Mr Nwanguma who stated this in a cocktail party organised by Lufthansa Airline during its return flight in and out of Port Harcourt, announced that contract for the expansion of the apron at the Port Harcourt Airport would commence in December.
The Regional Manager noted that the expansion of the apron will accommodate more aircraft at the airport.
According to him, the contract for the expansion has been awarded and that by December, work would have commenced; 200 meters by the right and 200 meters on the left. Upgrading of facilities at the terminal building is on the pipeline. The state government has promised while soon, the expansion of the terminal will be of the past.
Mr Nwanguma also said the Authority is working on how to complete the airline building; adding that the completion will ensure that office space is created at the terminal building.
I am happy that as the airport manager, two international airlines have operations at the airport, and we are expecting that the third one will come in by next year.
