Otari Youths Receive Commendation
Rivers State Commissioner for Housing, Mr Marshall Uwom, has commended the youths of Otari community in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the state for embracing peace at all times.
The commissioner made the commendation when members of the Agba Royal Family, Otari community paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
Mr Uwom appealed to the chiefs to set up a reconciliatory body for youths who are now residing outside the community to come back home and get involved in developmental activities.
The commissioner stressed the need for youths to form small co-operatives in order to get soft loans for productive activities and explained that pineapples and plantains are the best in the country.
He encouraged them to embark on small and medium scale enterprises to put an end to the complain of unemployment.
Mr Uwom Commended Governor Amaechi on his developmental projects withn Abua/Odual including the Otapha Link Road, Agbandele, Abua Link Road, Ayama, Omokwa, Otaris Link Road which is 70 per cent completed and the several on-going 10 model primary schools in Abua/Odual.
The commissioner assured the chiefs that Abua/Odual people are of great importance to the Rivers State Government and would not be left out in any developmental project being carried out in the state.
Earlier, Chief Macaulay Bunge, the family head decorated the honourable commissiner in a traditional attire, and thanked Governor Amaechi for appointing their son a second time as the Commissioner for Housing.
He appealed to the state government to consider the reconstruction of Amalem-Otari Link Road without delay to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
