ONELGA Council To Build International Market
The newly elected chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Council, Hon. Raymond Nwokocha has promised to build a Mega International Market to be named after Chief Godspower U. Ake as a recognition of his leadership role in the local government.
Hon. Nwokocha who stated this during the swearing in ceremony of his vice chairman and seventeen councillors, explained that the idea to name the proposed mega international market after the current PDP chairman in Rivers State was due to his exemplary leadership and his contributions for the development of the local government.
The chairman charged the councillors to be good representatives of their various wards, noting that the executive cannot perform effectively without the legislature contributing their quoters.
He reminded the councillors that the task ahead is to make achange by touching the lives of the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni and also deliver people-oriented projects as dividend of democracy.
Said he: “My leadership will be focused to deliver effective security, human capacity building, infrastructure developments and other social amenities”.
The two time councilor in the local government who was sworn-in as chairman of the local government by the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, also lauded the good work of the Governor and promised that he will emulate the Governor’s leadership style.
The chairman in the same vain to facilitate his desired administrative agenda appointed Mr. Clever Orukwonu as secretary and while other executive members of the council were named and inaugurated.
Earlier, while administering the oath of office on the Vice Chairman and the 17 Councillors, Chief Magistrate M.O. Chukwu of the Chief Magistrate Court Omoku, warned the officers not to derail from their line of duties.
He urged them to be good ambassadors and be separated from the failure of the previous leadership of the council.
Meanwhile, Mr. Douglas Uzah emerged the new legislative leader while other officers of the council legislature were inaugurated last week.
