Chairman Denies Embezzling Funds In Andoni
Trouble is now brewing in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Andoni Local Government as some ward chairmen are canvassing the removal of the party chairman, Hon. Victor Ere over alleged embezzlement of funds.
The ward chairmen also want the secretary of the party, Hon. Paul Ayagwung to be relieved of his office citing the same alleged offence.
In a statement signed by eight out of the eleven ward chairmen in the area, the group said the move for the impeachment of the chairman and the secretary followed the alleged embezzlement of funds released to host Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi during the Town Hall Meeting in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Andoni P.D.P chieftains were also accused of inefficiency in the running of the affairs of the party in the area and negation of the provisions of the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The group further accused Hon. Victor Ere and Paul Ayagwung of insubordination and unconstitutional activities, which are likely to cause division and crisis in the party.
The group gave the two party chieftains an ultimatum to resign within seven days or face impeachment by the party ward chairmen in the area.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the P.D.P in the area, Hon. Victor Ere has denied the allegation against him and the secretary, Hon. Paul Ayagwung.
According to him the move is sponsored by some selfish politicians in the area, who wanted him removed.
Meanwhile, P.D.P stakeholders in the area yesterday endorsed the removal of the party chairman, Hon. Victor Ere and the secretary, Hon. Paul Ayagwung.
This was the resolution reached at a meeting held in Ngo, the council headquarters at which the council boss, Hon. Emilia Nte, Special Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Sam Etete gwang, among others were in attendance.
