Obielum Hosts Uduaghan To Grand Reception, Today
Staunch opponent to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in the April 2007 governorship election, Chief Godwill Obielum has staged a comeback to Uduaghan’s camp in the build up to the 2011 elections in Delta state.
He has also pledged to help consolidate the Governor’s second term agenda.
Obielum is chief host for today’s grand civic reception for Governor Uduaghan by the Ndokwa people of Delta State in appreciation for the governor’s impact on Ndokwa land, particularly the recently approved Polytechnic for the area and the planned construction of a 120MW capacity Independent Power Plant at Okpai-Aboh axis of Ndokwa East area.
A retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, Obielum had shortly after the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries joined forces with the Clark group to form a formidable opposition in the state, which has since the April 2007 elections exhibited resolute will to wrest power from the Ibori/Uduaghan dynasty in the state.
He stated that he would bring together all Ndokwa people to honour Governor Uduaghan at the Kwale Township Stadium, headquarters of Ndokwa West local government area of the state.
“I consider it appropriate to state that the approval of citing of Polytechnic in Ndokwa nation and the construction of roads in the area, confirmed that Uduaghan means well for Ndokwa people”.
It would be recalled that Obielum had also been hosted to civic reception by the state government several months ago, where Weedend Uguaghan addressed him as “my leader and leader of the state”.
