NDDC Donates Security Gadgets To Rivers Police Command

ment Commission (NDDC) has donated various security gadgets including 700 Walkie Talkie and 150 Base Radio to the Rivers State Police Command to enable the force combat crime effectively in the state.
The NDDC, MD/Chief Executive, Chibuzor Ugwoha while donating the communication gadgets to the Rivers Police Command last Friday, at the Police Officers Mess, said the essence of donating the equipment is to assist the security operatives to tackle crime activities in the state.
The NDDC boss, appealed to the Commissioner of Police, Rivers Command to assist in training of NDDC security personnel as to equip them technically and security experience to carry out their assignment.
He commended the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Commissioner of Police, Rivers Command for their leadership style which he said was responsible for crime reduction in the state.
The NDDC Managing Director also called on the Commissioner of Rivers to assist in recruiting more indigenes of the Niger Delta Region into the Police Force so that they would improve in the efforts to combat crime in their society.
He assured that NDDC would continue to do everything possible to assist the Police to combat crime effectively within the region.
Responding, the Rivers Police Commissioner, Mr. Suleiman Abba thanked the NDDC for providing communication gadgets to the command in the state adding that the gesture would assist Police to discharge their duties effectively.
The Commissioner assured that the command would not fail in its responsibilities to protect lives and properties, stressing that without communication gadgets it would be difficult to reach out to distress calls.
Mr. Abba used the opportunity to appeal to the NDDC boss to provide bullet proof vest and helment to the men of Rivers Police Command, adding that Rivers State is one of the seven pilot states which the federal government wants to equip to enable it attain a
