‘Late Sam, Huge Loss To Ikwerre’
Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has described the death of Mr Sam Stanford Amadi as a huge loss to Ikwerre land and the country in general.
Rt Hon. Amaechi eulogised late Amadi for his friendliness and love for people during a condolence visit to the family at Oro-Abali, Port Harcourt last Wednesday.
Amaechi who expressed sadness over the death of Sam said, “it was quite shocking to hear that a young and vibrant man as Sam has died,” stressing that despite his few years on earth he was able to touch so many lives in his community, Ikwerre and the country in general.
The Governor while calling on the family to bear the loss of their late brother with the hope that it was the divine will of God remarked that he passed on at a time when he was most needed, “I know you people must be in a state of shock because you never expected that he would die early since he was never sick.”
The Rivers State Governor however assured that he and other friends of late Sam would ensure that he was given a befitting burial and ensure the upkeep of the family especially his young kids.
Amaechi charged the family to make the welfare of the children a priority emphaising that their education must be sustained.
Rt. Hon Amaechi assured, “We that are his friends will be very willing to support you in whatever way we can to make the children comfortable. If we don’t do that then we have disappointed Sam.”
He further expressed the sympathies of his family and that of the state to the Amadi family at this period of grief.
Responding on behalf of the family, Mr Emmanuel Chinwo thanked the Governor and the people of the state for sharing with them during this period of pain and assured that the family would do all within it’s powers to ensure that the upkeep and education of their late brothers children are sustained.
Mr Chinwo further assured that, “the harmful traditional practices would never be applied to our brother’s wife.”
Meanwhile, Governor Chibuike Amaechi has ordered the immediate demolition of a new ongoing structure along the Eastern-bye pass axis of Ogbunabali in Port Harcourt.
Amaechi said the building was not legally approved and would cause traffic hiccups due to its nearness to the road. He therefore called on the owners of the building to stop work forth with or face the full wrath of the law.
