Silverbird Boss Canvasses Support For Young Artistes
The Regional Manager (South) of Rhythm FM, Silverbird Communication, Mr. Sampson Fiberesima has called on well meaning individuals and corporate organisations to come to the aid of up coming local artists in the state and the Niger Delta in general.
Mr. Fiberesima who gave the charge on Sunday at the formal launching of Henry Ogbanga’s musical album titled “Come Nearer” at the Pool side of the Port Harcourt Club said the need to encourage youths who strive to sharpen their talents becomes more compelling in view of the unemployment situation in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large. The Silverbird boss said his organisation would at all times support such efforts and that was why he gave the budding music star, popularly known as Rohmanz, the necessary support for the success of the launch of his debut album.
“That is why my group, the Silverbird group has gone out of its way to ensure that we promote local artists particularly those of them from the Niger Delta because we believe that this place is full of talents”, he noted.
He explained that if our youngsters occupied themselves with beneficial activities, it would go a long way in countering the bad image associated with the Niger Delta region. Mr. Fibresima urged young artistes from the region to redouble their efforts so that the public and the government would be aware of their activities and come to their aid in future.
“The problem is government may not know that you are there that is the issue. It is not that government ignores them but I think that the awareness will be improving day by day”, he counselled.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the event, the host, Rohmanz adviced upcoming artists to cultivate the habit of listening to other musicians to widen the scope of their musical career.
“I just want to say to my fans and other artists to find time to listen to other artists from Rivers State.
The audience which relished at the comfort of the pool side of the Port Harcourt Club were thrilled by local musicians of the likes of C.J. Beyond Agaptus, Minima, John Price, Mr. Mist and XB among other artists, with comedians Niaja mumu and Thuraya who held the audience spell bound with rib cracking jokes.
It would be recalled that the album “Come Nearer” was released as Rohmanz’s debut in march this year with the hit track “waiting for love”. The launch was deliberately timed to coincide with the country’s 51st Independence Anniversary.
