Boko Haram: ACF Condemns Attack In The North
The South South/South East Council of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has described the services of co-ordinated attacks by the Boko Haram group which left scores of people dead in Yobe and Borono States as an act of treasonable felony.
Chairman of the Forum Alhaji Musa Saidu told newsmen shortly after the Eidel Karbil prayer on Sunday, in Port Harcourt that the AFC is not only barbaric but a crime against humanity.
“It is condemnable, is barbaric on behalf of the council and Northern people both in the South South/South East we condemned that act”.
Ahalji Saidu who described the act as unIslamic described the perpetrators as politicians with religious toga, stressing that Islam does not encourage violence.
“Islam means peace. What we are celebrating today, that Eidel Karbil, that was practice by Prophet Ibrahim, so anybody who kill is not a Moslem” he said.
He said that time has come for criminal elements in the society to stop killing in the name of Islam and stressed the need for both the Federal and State government to invoke their constitutional power to check the rising wave of violence in the country.
The ACF chairman also stressed the need for the Rivers State Governor Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to put on place necessary measures to check the rising wave of armed robbery in the State.
According to him, the incessant killing of policemen by armed robbers is creating fear in the minds of the citizens.
Also speaking the Saikuin Housawa of Port Harcourt Alhaji Isa Madaki said that the message of Eidel Karbil signifies peace.
