…CAP Candidate Woos Electorate
The Gubernatorial candidate of Change Advocate Party (CAP) in February 11, Bayelsa State governorship election, Dr Imoro Kubo, has urged the electorate not to focus on political parties in their choice of who to bring the desired positive change in the state.
Dr Kubo who gave the advice while flagging off his election campaign at at Opolo Secondary School Field, said he and his running mate, Reverend Julius Oworibo, a reired head of Service in the State were roundly qualified not only proven administrators, technocrats but as people who had experience and had occupied several positions of trust before retirement.
According to Dr Kubo, he had already sensed that Bayelsans believed in them to deliver the dividends of democracy, adding “I do believe that you are here today not just because of me and Rev. Oworibo, but because you believe that we can collectively change Bayelsa State for the better”
“In the face of political instability and violence, you believe strongly, that Bayelsa will be peaceful. In the midst of poverty and lack, you believe there is hope for wealth and prosperity. In the face of political deprivation and exclusion occasioned by cabalism, that often tend to divide us between the so-called core-Ijaw and non-core-Ijaw, you believe we can be united as one Ijaw and one people”’
Dr Kubo who paid tributes to the past leaders of the state, said he would start from where they stopped, by exploring the high potential resources available in the state to the benefits of all.
He, however, warned the people against selling their votes saying that any person who sold his vote would remain perpetually poor even as he reminded them to remember the fate of Esau in the bible said to have sold his birth; “ in this case the voters card is your birth right’’, he stated.
Earlier, the State chairman of the party, Mr Teme Kolobo, had described the duo of Dr Kubo and Oworibo as a round peg in a round hole, saying that Bayelsans have no other better choice than to vote for them.
He said the expected change can only occured if the right people are voted into power, saying that they should not be deceived smooth talks of those who had been tested failed to satisfy the yearning of the people.
