RSNC Set To Take Delivery Of New Rotary Machine
The Rivers State Government, is now set to deliver brand new state of the art rotary machine and other equipment to the state-owned Newspaper Corporation in an effort to boost its performance.
The General Manager of the corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo announced this last Wednesday when the Men’s Missionary Union, Rivers State Baptist Conference paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
Ogolo said that the corporation, publishers of The Tide was adjusting to serve both the government and people better, adding that with the equipment , the corporation would compete favourably, with other print media establishments across the country.
“The Tide is waxing stronger and stronger, because we want to be of better service to the government and the people of the state”, he said.
The general manager, who congratulated the Baptist Men over their annual conference celebration, specially for the health and business seminar put together as part of the conference, noted that they were practising pure Christianity.
He admitted the enormous sacrifices made by the union, adding that God will crown their efforts.
Meanwhile, the general Manager has called on the Men’s Missionary Union of the Baptist Conference and the general public to partner the corporation in efforts to deliver on all their media-related activities.
Also speaking, the leader of the delegation and chairman of the group, Dr Soye .P. Asawo, said they were at The Tide premises to intimate the management about their 2012 annual men’s conference tagged: Times and Seasons.
Asawo, regretted that news media were awash with stories of failures, disasters and other woes, saying that God has used the union to turn things around, and solicited for publicity on the achievements of the union.
He also noted with dismay how several men in leadership positions had disappointed the public while calling public office holders to dedicate themselves to the service of the people.
The Baptist Men’s Union chairman noted that denying the conference professionals across all fields and business players would render selfless services and used the occasion to invite Rivers people and other living and doing business in the state to avail themselves of the opportunity.
On The Tide’s request for partnership, Asawo said an urgent attention would be paid to it in order to reach out a wider readership.
Meanwhile, the publicity sub-committee chairman of the conference, Mr. Omoni Ayo-Tamuno, lauded The Tide management for the attention given to the union’s activities as he asked God to continue to sustain the corporation.
