NBRRI Harps On Engineering Standards
The Director-General of the Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute, Prof. Danladi Matawal, on Tuesday urged younger engineers to sustain high standards to impact positively on Nigeria.
Matawal made the appeal in an interview in Lagos.
He said that younger engineers should build strongly on the good foundation laid by their older colleagues
The director-general said that engineers should ensure that innovations in technology would improve the lives of the present and the future generations.
“It is important that those coming behind should know that a proper foundation has been set for the building of an excellent future for Nigeria.
“It is, therefore, necessary that they work diligently with a vision for the future of Nigeria to make the impact that the country will benefit from.
“Whatever they do to build the nation as engineers will be recognised and beneficial,” he said.
He described the recognition award recently given to him and 11 other engineers by the Nigerian Academy of Engineering as fulfilling.
“This marks fulfillment to all I have been doing as an engineer,’’ he said.
Reports say that Matawal and 11 others were inducted into the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, on June 21 in Lagos.
