Monarch Applauds Wike On Roads Construction In Etche
The Paramount Ruler of Igbo Etche Kingdom, HRM Eze Samuel Ndiwe Amaechi has applauded the Rivers State Governor, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for making the people of Etche proud through the construction and reconstruction of several roads in the area.
Eze Amaechi made the commendation while speaking at a memorial lecture in honour of a one-time member of the House of Representatives, Hon. (Dr) Eze Ogbueri Ajoku Nwala at Umuokwa-Edegelem in Etche Local Government Area recently.
The Monarch said the availability of good motorable roads in Etche has enhanced business and commercial activities in the area, especially the Chokocho-Igbo Road.
The royal father who eulogized the sterling qualities of the Late Ogbueri Nwala said that his enduring legacies would remain on the sands of time, pointing out that the achievements he recorded in education and politics would always be remembered by the people.
He said that the historical evolution of Etche and the Igbo Etche clans was so important that their tradition, culture, chieftaincy institutions, politics and religion have become inseparable and sued for the sustenance of their rich cultural heritage.
Eze Amaechi who reiterated the commitment of Council of Chiefs to support the state government in fighting crime and criminality charged youths in that community to desist from acts inimical to the existing peace in the area while emulating the footsteps of the Late Ogbueri Nwala.
In his presentation, a renowned Educationist, Professor Sam Otamiri also extolled the virtues of the late lawmaker and encouraged the people of Igbo Etche to immortalise him.
High point of the event which witnessed some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftains in attendance including Prince Emma Anyanwu, Isaiah Choko, President General of Ogbakor Etche, Machy Nwodim, CTC chairman, Etche LGA, Hon Gift Anyalebechi, was a novelty football match.
