Auto Crash Claims Five In Rumuigbo …As Cultists Kill Five In Emohua
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that five people died in an auto accident along the Nkpolu-Rumuigbo Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Sector Commander of the FRSC in Rivers State, Imoh Etuk, who confirmed the accident, explained that the crash occurred in the early hours of yesterday, after the car they were driving in rammed into a stationary vehicle.
The sector commander alleged that the deceased might have died as a result of serious impact from the accident, which he said apparently happened while they were returning from night club.
He noted that three females and two boys died in the crash while those who sustained various degrees of injuries, are said to be receiving treatment at the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital in Port Harcourt.
While regretting the incident, Etuk advised motorists to avoid over speeding and unsafe driving habits on the roads.
Meanwhile, a fresh cult clash has erupted in Omudioga Community in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
The clash, The Tide learnt, resulted in the death of, at least, four persons.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) DSP Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the fresh gang clash, said several people also sustained various degrees of injuries.
Omoni also said that a police team has, however, made some arrests, but did not specify the number of those so far arrested in connection with the disturbances.
He, however, advised the people of the community to provide information to the police.
Omoni also raised the hopes of concerned Rivers people and particularly medical doctors over the kidnap of Dr Felix Akani.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the police command spokesman, assured that those responsible for the abduction of Akani would soon be arrested.
He explained that the police, through solid intelligence, have identified the house where the victim was being held in captivity.
