Monarch Urges CDC To Tackle Insecurity
Ahead of the 2019 general elections in the state, a community leader, Chief Collins Okechuku Amadi, has urged the Omuoko Community Development Committee (CDC) to tackle insecurity and injustice in the community.
He also called on the leadership to be courageous and transparent while dealing with its neighbours to improve its relationships.
Chief Amadi stated this in an interview with The Tide, yesterday, in Omuoku, shortly after handing over to the new executive of CDC, led by Chief Amaechi Christopher at the chief’s palace.
Amadi, who is the outgoing chairman, Omuoko CDC, called on the new executives to shun corruption and embrace peace and harmony in the community.
He said his seven-year tenure attracted even development to the area, as his team constructed 19 shops, 10 bedroom apartments and markets for the community to yield revenue.
Describing the position as terminal, Amadi said he partnered with security agents to curtail criminal activities in the area and ensure peace.
Administratively, Amadi said his tenure recorded huge success in tackling insecurity and handling disputes in the area.
He appealed to the new executive to shun acts of criminality and cultism, but collaborate with chiefs, elders and youths to achieve their goals.
The chief also called on the CDC to attract investors into the community and make peace with the neighbouring communities to enhance unity and progress.
Earlier, the new CDC Chairman, Chief Amaechi Christopher, had thanked the chiefs, elders and youths for electing him to serve the community.
Christopher assured the community that he would ensure peace and progress of the community by partnering with all relevant agencies to ensure that insecurity was tackled in the area.
He promised to work with the youths, women groups and chiefs to ensure that the community was economically repositioned to attract investors and create employment for the unemployed.
