Lawmaker Guns For Reps Seat …Promises Constituents Effective Representation
The lawmaker representing Degema Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Farah Dagogo, says he is going to the House of Representatives to give the people of Bonny/Degema Federal Constituency, and to a large extent, Rivers State, effective representation.
The state legislator, a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), equally laughed off rumours that he had left the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He noted that lots of wrong perceptions were always being sponsored against his person, adding that his rumoured defection was one of such.
The lawmaker, who also doubles as the chairman, House Committee on Education, made this disclosure shortly after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms for the Bonny/Degema House of Representatives seat under the PDP.
“Today, here I am. I just submitted my intent and nomination forms for the House of Representatives seat under the PDP. I wasn’t unaware of the gale of rumours surrounding my defection to the APC. Since there was no truth in it, I didn’t see any reason to respond to what was being built around lies and have absolutely no foundation.
“There have been series of calculated lies against my person. Let me give you few insights; a fake Facebook account was opened in my name that was being used to defraud unsuspecting members of the public, that I, Farah Dagogo, will demean myself to the extent of asking for kick-backs from political appointees in my LGA and outside of it, that I don’t run an all-inclusive and embracing representation as a member of the House of Assembly, even though as a lawmaker, I have strived within my little means in ensuring that all the 10 communities that made up Degema have all been positively affected.
“Inasmuch as it is not my style to start making public the little way God has used my person and station to affect people’s lives positively, it is also incumbent on the beneficiaries not to lie about it. If for whatever reasons you don’t want to make it known, that could be excused, but lying about it, that is terrible.”
