Rep Mourns Ex-MILAD, Nkanga
A member of House of Representatives from Akwa Ibom State, Mr Onofiok Luke, has mourned the demise of a former military administrator of the state, Retired Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga.
The lawmaker, who represents Etinan /Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency of the state, described the development as sad, in a press statement in Uyo, yesterday.
The former military administrator died on December 24.
Luke, who said that he was devastated by the news, recalled the experiences he garnered while working with the late Nkanga.
“I have been devastated by the news since on Christmas eve. So sad the more considering the fact that about two weeks ago, you reminded me of my role as the Chairman of the Planning Committee of a book launch in your honour and your 69th birthday celebration which was scheduled for January 2021.
“So sad again, because Nsit people have lost an iroko and a leader in you”, he said
In another development, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has commiserated with former Kano State Governor, Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso, over the death of his father, Alhaji Musa Sale-Kwankwaso.
Sale-Kwankwaso died last Friday at the age of 93.
Okowa’s condolence was conveyed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, yesterday in Asaba.
