Party Stalwart Rates Wike High On Grassroots Dev
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, Senibo Monday Manilla, has commended Governor Nyesom Wike for taking government closer to the people, through the sustenance of development outlets, saying he is the only governor that can restore the fortunes of the party, come 2023 general elections.
Speaking with journalists recently in Port Harcourt, Manilla dismissed the rumours in some quarters that the governor was in talks with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and that they may dump the umbrella party.
“His Excellency is a man of the people and he runs an open -door- policy administration.
His disposition towards people’s plights will show you in clear terms that he acts without prejudice.
“He is a man that can act without prejudice, then I don’t think that anybody can fault him.
“It is only him that can turn around all the afflicting situations of PDP in any State. Watch out the PDP Congress he organised outside Rivers State, how it turned successfully.
“He is the only governor you can reach at any time and he gives you audience, he does not discriminate,” he asserted.
Senibo Manilla, who doubled as Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Council, maintained that going through records of governors decamping from PDP to APC “you will see that their acts never brought goodies to their states.
“All those decampees from PDP will find their way back to PDP, “ he said, noting that the governor understands fully the principle of separation of powers and is in a hurry to get development closer to the people, hence creation and sustenance of the development outlets.
The party’s scribe said that the government understood the principles of separation of powers and has established the outlets close to the governance, adding , “ if you look at the administration style of his excellency, you will agree with me that he understands when to politic and when to govern. He is somebody that understands the importance of separation of powers and he has always maintained that not just when he came to power as the governor of Rivers State but it was also part of his antecedents when he was chairman for eight years and minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Senibo Monday said.
