Group Set To Tackle Unemployment In Nigeria
The National President, Community Reformed Youths of Nigeria (CRY), Mr Gogo Wenike-Briggs, has said that part of its core mandate is to push against unemployment level in the country.
Wenike-Briggs, disclosed this in an exclusive chat with The Tide in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
He pointed out that there was an urgent need for organisations across the federation to speak out against unemployment and offer solutions.
According to him , government at all levels must create employment opportunities for its people so as to have a balanced community.
He was of the view that most of the negative narratives experienced in the country was as a result of high unemployment rate.
The CRY henchman noted that no gainfully employed man or woman would abandon his or her duty post and endulge in non profitable ventures.
On the quietness of the group for sometime now, he said it was due to ground formation that ought to be done for effective take-off.
“There was also some slow pace in our finance in achieving great heights. I apologise and hope to set the ball rolling”, he said.
He said that he was determined to fight against unemployment in Rivers State and others in order to enable the youths to believe in themselves.
The time to act, according to him, is now, adding that all tiers of government must see the issue of unemployment as critical.
“We must discuss the state of unemployment crises in the country, and see how we can change it in the nearest future”, he said.
