Family of a female student of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt in the State has called on the general public to come to their aid over intimidation and arrest of their daughter by a lecturer in Public Administration Department, Mr Tamunotonye Solomon.
Mother of the female student, Mrs Ruth Audu in an interview with newsmen said in April 2021, her daughter informed the family that the lecturer employed her as office assistant.
Mrs. Audu revealed that two weeks after the daughter started working as office assistant to the lecturer, her daughter resigned because the lecturer allegedly started making advances towards her.

In the meantime Centre For Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has condemned the detention of the female student by the Police in an alleged offence that is bailable pending when the Police will arraign her in court if found culpable in the course of investigation.
National Coordinator of the group, Prince Wiro who was at the Police station urged the Police to carry out investigation devoid of bias and sentiment with a view to ensuring justice to all parties involved.
However, information reaching our News desk has it that the female student has been released on the order of Rivers State Commissioner of Police Mr. Eboka Friday.
