Rukpokwu Residents Hail Police Commander For Fighting Cultism
Rivers State Anti-Cultism Commander, CSP Mohammed Ibrahim, has received commendation following his fight against cultism in the State, particularly in Rukpokwu community in Obio/Akpor Local Area.
The concerned residents of Rukpokwu community led by Ovundah Kingsley, said they were impressed with the officer and his team’s pragmatic approach towards tackling cultism in the area.
While briefing newsmen at the weekend in Port Harcourt, the residents noted that crime and other nefarious activites have drastically reduced since the assumption of office of CSP Ibrahim.
According to him, the community would support the police in all ramifications to fight crime.
“The total commitment, dedication and professionalism exhibited by the police officer and his team in the fight against crime deserves commendation.
We are really happy that the State Command headed by CP Friday Eboka posted such an experienced officer to head such unit. Honestly, this has given the Nigeria police more credibility.
We believe that for a Police officer to achieve this success, he would have rejected inducements from various quarters” Kingsley said.
In another development the Rukpokwu local vigilante group called OSPAC has also pledged to support the police to curb crime in the area.
The OSPAC commander, Mr. Worlu Chigor stated this while on routine patrol at the weekend in Eliokpokpodu, saying that they are committed to ensure that there is peace in the area.
Worlu appealed to the relevant authorities to provide logistics for effective and smooth operations, as he appreciates the Community Development (CDC) Chairman of the community, Prince Sunny Wopara for his immense support.
He further advised residents to always report any suspected criminal to the police or OSPAC.
