Human Capital Dev: Nemieboka Assures Trainees Of Commitment To Train Everyone
As plans towards the commencement of skills training gets to advanced stage, the Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Hon Vincent Nemieboka, had an interactive meeting with trainees that indicated interest to be trained in Scaffolding, Crane and Forklift Operations.
The meeting which had over 300 participants drawn from all communities in the LGA in attendance was held at the Council Secretariat Hall in Ogu.
Speaking during the interactive meeting, Nemieboka said the training is intended to impact meaningful skills that would give a source of livelihood to the trainees, provide them with recognized certificates and make them marketable in the labour market.
He called on all the intending trainees to take the training serious as it will not be business as usual where people are only interested in the starter packs that are given to them so they can sell them because no starter packs would be given to anyone.
The chairman further informed them that the training is part of his administration’s plan to embark on human capital development projects aimed at empowering people from the LGA to be independent and self-reliant.
He said the training would be done in three batches, this is to ensure that each batch is well funded and for the training facilities to accommodate the number of trainees it is meant for.
Nemieboka assured the trainees that everyone would be trained no matter the batch they fall into, he said the process will not be politicized because the program is for everyone that is from Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area not minding political affiliations or relationship to anyone in government.
The breakdown of trainees for training is 176 for Forklift Operation, 170 for Crane Operation and Scaffolding is 19 they would all be trained in Basic and Advanced operations and the training would be for six weeks, modalities would be put in place to get the needed certificates and the training would be in Port Harcourt and would commence by next week.
As part of its scheme for the development of human capital and empowerment program for the people of the LGA, over 3,000 persons would be trained in 18 different skills.
