OGFZA Tops PEBEC Ranking For 3rd Time
The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has rated the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) as the overall best in efficiency, transparency and promotion of the same around its free zone case of business in the country.
According to a 2021/2022 biannual report recently published by PEBEC, OGFZA was rated 83 percent in transparency and efficiency for the first half of 2022, ahead of 36 other Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Nigeria, making it the third time the agency would be ranked tops by PEBEC in a row.
PEBEC was established in July 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari to remove bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria, and making the country a progressively easier place to start and grow a business towards entrenching transparency and efficiency in public service delivery.
Sen. Tijjani Y. Kaura, who is at the helm of affairs at OGFZA, described the organisation as a responsive government agency, which prides itself in the actualisation of corporate and private economic interests.
According to him, “it remains irredeemably committed to the qualitative compliance with the tenets of the ease of doing business as captured in the Executive Order 1 (EO1)”.
He noted that government organisations should be driven with high level commitment to excellence, efficiency, evaluation and appreciable outcomes that are critical to productivity in the service of national interests.
This, he said, captures the brand promise that OGFZA is assuring to keep.
