To achieve sustainable economic development in communities, he said, the people must be “receptive to progressive initiatives, embrace development opportunities, and play complementary roles in delivery of community projects”.
He explained that various communities in the state were endowed with enormous development potentials, especially in agriculture, that were yet to be fully explored as regards what he called “comparative economic advantages”.
The monarch, who is reputed for his patriotic gesture and pivotal role in attracting electrification project to the entire Bua Boue communities, called on community-based organisations to be proactive in their roles change agents by sensitising the people, particularly the youth, to embrace peace and acquire basic skills to become more useful to themselves and the society at large.
The Royal Father appealed to the contractors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) handling the Kono, Kereke, Nor Kwiri, Gbam Boue roads to return to site and complete the second phase of the project to alleviate the plight of the people.
The Traditional Ruler who commended the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for his concern towards the reclassification of existing stools in the state for maximal traditional administrative impact, appealed to the Governor to extend same to the Bua Boue stool in Babbe, which, he said, is one of the oldest in the state.
