Rivers Zero Crime Commences Sensitisation
All is now set for an initiative taged “Rivers Zero Crime”, of the Rivers State Police Command led by the commissioner of Police, Nwoyi Policap Emeka, towards curbing crime to the bearest minimum in the state.
The Rivers Zero Crime initiative is scheduled to come up on September14, in collaboration with Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comedians, and other bodies, including market women, music industry and media organizations, to ensure all hands are on deck to curb crime in the state.
Speaking, the Coordinator of Rivers Zero crime, Kate Ezeigbo, during a tour to some media houses to further sensitize the public on the need to key into the Rivers Zero Crime, said it is targeted at consolidating the efforts of the state Police Command in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
Noting that the synergy with other bodies will help to reduce crime, she said as part of activities lined up to hold the event, Rivers Zero crime will organize road shows and sensitization walk.
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, who is the initiator of the Rivers Zero Crime, called on citizens from all works of life to collaborate with the initiative towards making the state crime free.
During its sensitisation tour, the Rivers Zero crtime Initiative team visited some media organizations such as Silverbird Communications, Garden city Radio, and Wish FM/Atlantic Television Network, including and aluminium company, Differential Aluminum & steel Co.Ltd.
The Coordinator of the team, Ezeigbo, called for company’s collaboration to reduce crime and criminality in the state.
In his response, the Managing Director of Differential Aluminum & steel Co.Ltd, Engr. Joseph Iwezue, said “curbing crime in the state will attract investors, who had left due to the security challenges, to return for more business in the state”, and promised to partner with the Initiative .
