Group Hails Fubara’s Development Strides
A pro-Ogoni development group, “Friends of Ken Saro Wiwa”, has commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the infrastructure in Ogoni Iand.
Leader of the group, Gani Tobaa, in a live radio interview by Silverbird Communications at the weekend said Fubara is currently driving an infrastructure transformation, citing ongoing new roads under construction in Bori, Headquaters of Khana Local Government Area.
Aside infrastructure, he lauded Governor Fubara for curbing cultism and violence in Ogoniland, describing the governor as a “Messiah”.
Reacting to the absence of an Ogoni in Fubara’s cabinet, Tobaa said such claim is propaganda, arguing that he is sure that the Governor has not sidelined or abandoned the Ogonis.
Tobaa sued for patience from all Ogoni people and enjoined them to support Fubara’s administration to succeed.
Congratulating Sir Fubara on the recent Election tribunal judgement, he said the outcome of the electoral judgement was an affirmation of the support of Rivers people.
On his view on the dilapidated East West Road, the Ogoni activist ruled out protest and confrontation on the poor condition of the road.
He stated that “protest is no longer necessary now, but the matter require engagement and dialogue”.
Tobaa stated that he is aware that Governor Fubara and former Governor, Nyesom Wike, are on the matter, and that the Nigeria National Petroleum Compan (NNPC) will soon release fund for the rehabilitation of the road stretching from Eleme Junction upto to Trailer park.
