Sheath Your Swords, Unite For Rivers Common Good, MOSIEND Tells Politicians

Following the recent political crisis in Rivers State between the Executive and the Legislatures, the Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) region has called on politicians of Rivers extraction to sheath their swords and support Governor Siminialayi Fubara for the development of the State.
The organisation also called on the political class not to divide the state for selfish interest, but rather rally for the common good of the State.
National President of MOSIEND, Comrade Kennedy Tonjo West, made this call while speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
West said the political differences, if any, between the Governor and the legislature will make them to understand themselves better and grow stronger in the governance of the state
“Yes the crisis will make them understand themselves better and grow stronger politically and chart a positive course to developing the state and the region at large”, he said.
MOSIEND frowned at the burning of some sections of the Rivers State House of Assembly by yet to be identified person(s), and called on all the aggrieved parties to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, forgiveness and also remember that they are in the office serve the state.
“We condemn the destruction of any public property situated anywhere in the state and the recent burning of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex. The complex and every other public property was (sic) built by tax payers and they do not belong the individuals they are fighting for or against.
“To rebuild the complex, it will take huge sums of money from the tax payers’ money which could have been channeled to other areas of development in the State.
“Let the tenets of separation of power be respected by all, because that is the spirit of democracy.
“The parties should not allow crises merchants to cash in into the situation and escalate it”, MOSIEND advised
