Bayelsa CJ Honours Judiciary Retirees
Bayelsa State Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Abrakassa Ayemieye, on Wednesday honoured 18 retirees of the state High Court, Yenagoa.
His Lordship Ayamieye stated that the reason for the honour was due to the retirees’ meritorious service to the state and the judiciary.
The Chief Judge commended the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for giving the state judiciary enabling environment to function, saying the retirees were still part of the judiciary family in their life, and that most of them will still remain as contract staff upon their retirement from service.
“The 18 of you have done the Bayelsa judiciary proud. Without your contribution, we wouldn’t have been where we’re today.
“I call on the judiciary workers to put in there best without bitterness at work. I also appeal to staff to always come to work.
“All of you have put years of meritorious services in the state judiciary. I commend all of you for your individual inputs in moving the judiciary forward”, the CJ said.
Highpoints of the occasion was the presentation of gift items to the retirees.
Earlier, the Chief Registrar of the State High Court, Amaebi Orukari, thanked the State Chief Judge for hosting the retirees, while also appreciating the retiring staff for their services to the state judiciary.
On his part, the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Temekori Derikebamoh, expressed gratitude to the State Chief Judge for honouring the retiring members of the union.
Meanwhile, retiring Deputy Director, Protocols and Head, Media and Publicity, Bayelsa State Judiciary, Mr Julius Lambert Nyananyo, has commended the Chief Judge, for the honour done to the retirees as they bow out of service.
Nyananyo urged other workers to take their work seriously, saying they will one day be honoured for their meritorious service to state judiciary.
Similarly, the State Chief Judge and other top echelon of the state judiciary have also commended and awarded sports men and women of the state judiciary who represented the state chapter of the judiciary staff games which took place recently in the nation for their sterling performances.
