Rivers CP decorates 118 Newly promoted officers of the police Command.
A total of 118 officers of the Rivers state Command were on thursday decorated with their newly promoted different ranks .
The officers promoted include 40 CSPs, 20 SPs and 58 DSPs.
The event which took place at the officers Mess of the police Command in the State was marked in remarkable ways as families and friends of the affected officers graced the occasion with admirations
In his address, the Rivers State Commissioner of police , CP Olugbenga Adewole who also performed the decoration exercise to some of the newly promoted officers Charged them on the need to maintain dedication and effective policing in their various duty posts.stressing that the
promotions did not come as a magic but hard work and dedication
He opined that it came as a result of hard work and sincere dedication to duty and urged them to maintain the tempo. While charging them on credible performance and urged them to leverage on the the gains of.the promotion to do more assuring that more promotions awaits the officers who are serious and dedicated to hard work .
“Do more and expect more promotions ahead be conscious of the image of the police while carrying out their duties and display to good behavior that the police
would command respect from the public. “he stated
He therefore urged them to be examplary policing in their duty posts and the command at large .
Responding un behalf of the newly promoted , CSP Edet thanked CP on his gaient stride, adding that history will forever remember you on this singular act of promote these number of officers today; not quite few weeks you takes over as the Rivers State Police Commissioner.” CSP Edet who also thanked those who made their promotion possible, promising that he and other officers promoted will always make the command proud .
