Ex-Deputy Gov Preaches Peace At Easter…Cleric Counsels On Salvation
Former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Frank Eke has appealed to the people of Rivers State to pray fervently for continued peaceful co-existence of the nation. The erstwhile Deputy Governor who is also the monarch of Evo Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state and the Eze Gbakagbaka of Ikwerreland stated this in his Easter message to the people. The monarch enjoined christians to imbibe the life style of Jesus Christ which include love, patience, humility among others and insisted that such virtues would ensure peaceful co-existence and unity of the Nigerian nation. “Christians should shun sin and other vices in order to inherit the Kingdom of God”, the Eze Gbakagbaka stated. Meanwhile the District Pastor of Faith Tabernacle Congregation (FTC) Nigeria, Port Harcourt District, Pastor Israel Nyeduko has enjoined Christians not to harden their hearts, saying that now is the time of salvation”. Pastor Nyeduko gave the advice during a revival service tagged “Encounter with Christ” held last Sunday at Oboburu in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. According to him, Christians should effectively use the grace of God they are enjoying, and live a meaningful life by taking the word of God seriously. The man of God, who took his text “Today is the day of Salvation”, from the 2nd Corinthians Chapter 6, verses 1-2, further enjoined Christians to allow the word of God have a place in their heart and stand firm in the truth for their salvation, adding that “The lamb of God changes situations”. He charged them not to defer, accepting Christ Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour while also appealing to all to embrace God with all their hearts. Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Boma Ibifaka said with Christ, the burden of sin would be taken away for mankind to be saved. In his topic, “Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God”, Pastor Ibifaka reminded the congregation that when a sinner accepts Christ, he becomes a new creature and the presence of God will always be with him. He enjoined all to embrace Christ by praying for forgiveness of their sins forsake same, saying that the Lamb of God “will surely take away your sins, sorrow and all the troubles of this life, and give you everlasting life”.
