Traditional Ruler Makes Case For Community
The Chairman, Kpean
Council of Chiefs, High Chief Gilbert Warine, has called on Dr. Dakuku Peterside, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State to remember the people of Kpean when he eventually becomes the governor of Rivers State come May 29.
Chief Warine made the plea when Peterside visited Kpean Council of Chiefs in continuation of his ward to ward rallies in the area.
The chief who described the APC candidate as a fortunate politician who has enjoyed unparalleled support and endorsement from traditional rulers and chiefs across Rivers State, said Kpean Traditional Council was following in the footsteps of others because of Peterside’s character and bearing.
He described the candidate as a humble, peace loving and God-fearing politician whose good work as Commissioner of Works still resonates in different parts of Rivers State.
“You are focussed, highly educated, humble and experienced public officer. I think the people of Rivers State could not have asked for a better governor. We are aware that you are the next governor of our state. It is not only Kpean that endorsed you, you have also enjoyed the endorsement of other traditional stools. We are behind you but please remember us in your kingdom”.
He prayed for him, promising to mobilize the needed support for APC and Peterside on March 28 and 11 April. In his speech, Chief Victor Nwinne, the oldest chief in the council expressed happiness at Peterside’s political profile and exploits. The chief who urged him to continue working for the interest of people, described Opobo, Peterside’s home town and Kpean as one people, and pledged his people’s support.
“You are a good man. Before you arrived here, your goodness had reverberated, particularly the work you did in Ogoni Land as Commissioner of Works. Our people will never forget”.
