The Nigerian movie Industry
popularly known as Nollywood has not only  gained global recognition, but has produced very rich and popular celebrities over the years.  Below are five of the riches Nollywood actors in the Industry.
1).    Richard Mofe Damijo
Richard Mofe Damijo better known as RMD was born on July 6, 1961 in Warri, Dalta State Nigeria, he is not only  a Nigerian actor of repute with many awards, but also a politician.  In 2005, he got the African Oscar award also known as African Movie Academy Award (AMAA) as the best actor in a leading role.  In January 2009, he became a commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State, he Studied in Middle-West College, Warri and Anglican High school also in Warri and later proceeded to university of Benin and graduated in Theatre Arts in 1997 from the university of benin.  He later studied legal laws at university of Lagos and received a diploma in 2004.
2).    Jim Iyke
Jim Iyke began his acting career in 2001.  Today he is one of the highest paid actors in Nollywood, he is also one of the most successful stars in the industry and has featured in more than 150 movies.  Recently, he established his own movie production company which he called ‘untamed productions’.  Jim as he is popularly known is also a skilled film producer.  One of movies, which he has created recently, is called ‘I dollar’.  It has a great success among admirers.  He has made continuation of the same movie called ‘2 dollars’.  Now he works on other block buster movies under the name ‘Shades White’, which promises to be the most successful among Jim’s movies.  The Nollywood bad boys has started on his own musical label and his own first album called ‘Who I am?’, in which some most successful musicians of Nigeria, such as TuFace Idibia, Sound Sultan and so on have taken part.  However, the most part of the income from his album was offered to shelters.  Besides that, he is a professional film actor, producer, musician and businessman.  Jim Iyke is also a philanthropist, he has set up a non-governmental organization (NGO) aimed at the education of needy children or children with limited opportunities.
3).             Nkem Owoh
Nkem Owoh is a Nigerian actor and comedian. In 2008, he won African Oscar Award for the best actor in a leading role.  Owoh was born in Enugu, Nigeria.  After his elementary and high school, he proceeded to university of Ilorin and studied Engineering.  Already during his study at the university, he began to take part in various telvesion and film productions.  He played a lead role in the movie ‘Osuofia in London’. He is also known for song in the movie ‘the owner’.  However, this song was forbidden by the Nigerian censors board.  In 2007, the actor was arrested in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as a result of 7-month ‘investigation by the Dutch Police under the name Operation Apollo.  Nkem Owoh was arrested during a musical show and later released.  In November 2009, he was kidnapped in Eastern Nigeria.  His abductors demanded a ransome of 15 million.  The man was released after his family members allegedly made a payment of 1.4 million Naira.
4).    Osita Jheme (Pawpaw)
Jheme was born in Mbaitoli, Imo State in a family of five children.  After end of primary and secondary education in the state, he entered the Enugu State university and studied Mass Communications.  The actors Chenedu Ikedueze (Akis) are often mentioned as a small duet.  Rare appearance of Iheme has given him advantage.  He became different and unique from all actors in Nollywood.  In 2003, he gained more popularity through his acting prowess in a comedy movie titled Aki na Ukwa, in which he played the role of ‘pawpaw’ that is a harmful child.  The actor played a role of ‘baby’ in many movies but has begun to take part in more mature and serious Nollywood movies.  He became more popular and has received respect both in the Nigerian film industry and among admirers.  Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan also honoured him with a national award.
5). RamseyY Nouah
Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah was born in the state of Edo, Nigeria to an Isreali father and a Yoruba Mother on July 16, 1973 he is married to Emilia and has two children, he is a graduate of Mass communication from University of Lagos, he speaks three languages; Ibo, Yoruba and English.  He loves boxing, golf, soccer, martial arts, swimming, driving the bicycle, basketball and tennis.  He is a very popular actor and skillfully carries out his movie roles.  He received an award as the Best Actor in a leading role in the 2010 edition of AMAA.  His movie career began when he played a major role in Nigerian television soap operas.  Since then he had appeared in numerous movies where he played leading roles.  He was called lover-boy because of numerous

My Relationship With Davido Beyond Money, Gossip -Cubana Chief Priest

Popular businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, has said that his relationship with singer Davido is beyond money and gossip.
He stated this in a recent interview with BBC Igbo.
“Davido is my friend. He is my in-law; he married Chioma who is from Imo State where I hail from.
“So the relationship I have with Davido is beyond money and gossip,” he said.
DAILY POST reports that Chief Priest disclosed via his Instagram page that his outfit for the wedding of the singer, Davido and his wife, Chioma, in Lagos on Tuesday cost seven million Naira.
The socialite recently appreciated Davido for not “discarding” Chioma.
He stated that the DMW boss has made Imo State proud by choosing to marry from the state.

Simi Joins Kenya’s Anti-Tax Protests

Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has lent her voice to the ongoing anti-tax hike protests in Kenya.
The Tide’s source reports that Kenyan youths are marching against tax hike in widespread demonstrations tagged ‘RejectFinanceBill2024.’
Five people were shot dead and dozens wounded after police clashed with protesters who stormed the parliament building in Nairobi on Tuesday, according to Amnesty Kenya.
Reacting via her X handle on Tuesday night, Simi declared her support for the demonstrators.
She stated that “it is both powerful and heartbreaking for a people to have to fight and die for freedoms and rights.”
The singer wrote, “I stand with the people of Kenya. It is both powerful and heartbreaking for a people to have to fight and die for freedoms and rights. Godspeed and Strength. [Hash tag] RejectFinanceBill2024.”
In a series of other posts, she wrote: “Wow. When you’ve had enough, the fight is almost inevitable.
“African leaders- have not you done enough?
“I can’t wait for the day Africa is not a weapon fashioned against Africans. All of this amazing Black power and human resource, but the majority are not likely to thrive unless they run.”

Davido, Zlatan, Others In Attendance At Asake’s Atlanta Concert

Famous Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Davido was spotted among other top artistes at Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour concert in Atlanta, Georgia.
Asake’s performance at his sold-out show at the 17,000-capacity State Farm Arena in Atlanta began on August 16, 2024, and is set to run for 10 days.
In a trending video on social media, Davido appeared backstage with American rapper Quavo to support Asake during the live performance.
Other musicians in attendance included Nigerian hitmaker Zlatan and American rapper Russ Millions.
The Tide’s source reports that Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour is set to cover six U.S. cities, where he will headline notable venues including Madison Square Garden in New York, the Toyota Center in Houston, and the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Asake’s tour comes just days after the release of his latest hit, ‘Lungu Boy,’ which features several superstars, including Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, Travis Scott and Brazilian singer Ludmilla.
‘Lungu Boy’ set a new record for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria, garnering 18.9 million streams in its opening week and breaking the previous record of 14.4 million streams held by Davido’s ‘Timeless.’
