Police Investigate Rape Allegation At Flavour’s Concert
The Enugu State Police Command has started investigating claims that many ladies were sexually assaulted and raped at a concert organised by Chinedu Okoli popularly known as favour. The Free concert took place on Saturday March, 31st 2018 at the Michael Okpara Square Enugu.
According to a twitter user, with the handle @ Naturizes women were assaulted, molested and raped during the show, your favourite celebrity decided to give back to the community, made his concert free but his fans (most) present at the square started to rape girls like it’s part of the script”.
The social media is buzzing with the allegation that over 20 ladies were raped while some left the show naked with their dresses torn by some criminals through the police only mentioned a case of attempted rape and stealing of phones and other crimes, witnesses lamented the rate ladies were raped.
The concert attracted a large crowd such that the venue could not contain the number of music fans who turned out this was mainly because the show allowed free entry for residents. Another reason was that Flavour, the major attraction of the show grew up in Enugu where he has a large fan base.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Ebere Amaraizu said in a statement on Sunday that the police have commenced investigation into the matter. He said that already a suspect was in custody for attempting to rape a lady at the concert”.
He said, “the Enugu State Police Command through it operative at independence Layout Division has commenced investigations into the alleged conduct of some people ranging from attempt to gang rape a victim as well as other offences during a musical concert at Michael Okpara Square. One person who is already helping operative in their investigation has been nabbed for his alleged role in the attempt to gang rape a victim at the musical concert of a popular Nigerian musician.
The PPRO added that three others were arrested for allegedly stealing mobile phones during the event, those arrested will be made to face the music in line with various provisions and specifications of the land after investigations”, he said.
Popular businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, has said that his relationship with singer Davido is beyond money and gossip.
He stated this in a recent interview with BBC Igbo.
“Davido is my friend. He is my in-law; he married Chioma who is from Imo State where I hail from.
“So the relationship I have with Davido is beyond money and gossip,” he said.
DAILY POST reports that Chief Priest disclosed via his Instagram page that his outfit for the wedding of the singer, Davido and his wife, Chioma, in Lagos on Tuesday cost seven million Naira.
The socialite recently appreciated Davido for not “discarding” Chioma.

Famous Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Davido was spotted among other top artistes at Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour concert in Atlanta, Georgia.
Asake’s performance at his sold-out show at the 17,000-capacity State Farm Arena in Atlanta began on August 16, 2024, and is set to run for 10 days.
In a trending video on social media, Davido appeared backstage with American rapper Quavo to support Asake during the live performance.
Other musicians in attendance included Nigerian hitmaker Zlatan and American rapper Russ Millions.
The Tide’s source reports that Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour is set to cover six U.S. cities, where he will headline notable venues including Madison Square Garden in New York, the Toyota Center in Houston, and the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Asake’s tour comes just days after the release of his latest hit, ‘Lungu Boy,’ which features several superstars, including Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, Travis Scott and Brazilian singer Ludmilla.
‘Lungu Boy’ set a new record for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria, garnering 18.9 million streams in its opening week and breaking the previous record of 14.4 million streams held by Davido’s ‘Timeless.’
