LG Boss Condemns APC Violence In Rumuche
The Executive Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chief Tom Aliezi has warned against the use of violence by desperate politicians to subdue their opponents in the area.
He warned that nobody or group of persons has the monopoly of power and right to deprive others their freedom of association.
Aliezi said this, last Monday, while speaking with newsmen in Emohua, the local government headquarters on the recent violence between members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area loyal to Senator Magnus Abe and another faction loyal to former Governor Chibuike Amaechi in Rumuche community in Emohua Local Government Area, last Sunday.
He advised that politicians should concentrate on how to gain the support of the electorates, rather than thinking of how to harm each other.
According to reports, violence erupted when members of the APC loyal to Amaechi invaded the venue of a meeting of another faction of APC loyal to Magnus Abe, destroying their canopies, chairs and food items.
The Emohua chief security officer condemned the desperation by both factions of the APC, and advised members of APC not to cause tension in the area that has been enjoying peace for some time.
