Clerics Harp On Righteous Living
Even as Christendom the world over celebrated Christmas last Saturday, Rev. F. O. Omoduegwe of the Rival Movement Ministry and Pastor Deekor Bekor of Christ Witness Bible Church have stressed the need for righteous living among mankind.
The men of God who gave the charge during the burial ceremony of a respected woman activist in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, Madam Grace Nsua Mbaadee in Ueken community last Friday, called on human beings to have the fear of God while they are still alive to inherit the kingdom of God.
Madam Mbaadee, aged 83 years died after a protracted illness, and attendance at the burial ceremony which was impressive actually confirmed that she was a true society builder, as people from all walks of life converged in large numbers to honour her.
The two religious ministers who led other clergy men during the inter-denominational service for the late woman activist paid glowing tribute to her for her exemplary lifestyle while she was alive.
Our correspondent reports that the late Madam Grace Mbaadee meant different things to the several mourners at the funeral.
While some of her children like Abel Kue Nsua, Chief Innocent Agboji, Hon. Tony Nubani and Joshua Eebee described her as unforgettable, Chief Nuka Gbenekuapie, Dick Akoba, Stephen Agboji and Barine Akpuru said the vacuum created by her exit would be difficult to fill in her family and the community at large.
Her second son, Comrade Joe Keaniebaridoo Nsua, former Chairman of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Tai Local Government Area described her as a courageous, kind, loving and hardworking woman who distinguished herself in business and community activism, even without the benefit of Western education.
As he put it, Madam Mbaadee was a great mobiliser who pulled together women from Ueken and other parts of Tai and successfully formed positive groups which raised funds and helped to develop the area.
Comrade Nsua recalled how the late woman activist lived and interacted with the Ibos, particularly the Akwetes and became versed in cloth-weaving, designing beautiful African arts and crafts on buildings and on the bodies of ladies for ceremonies.
She was a devout Christian with the Deeper Life Christian Bible Church.

Kalabari Media Forum Hails Recognition Of Dokubo Asari As Amayanabo
The Kalabari Media Forum has endorsed the recognition of Alabo, Alhaji Mujaheed Dokubo Asari as the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri and the historical relevance of the award.
A communique issued after the 2024 end of year summit of the Forum also commends the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialaye Joseph Fubara for the recognition which they described as the best end of year gift to the Kalabari people.
The Communique signed by the Coordinator of the Forum, Alabo Dagogo Clinton and the Secretary, Mr. Harry Awolayeofori Macmorrison states that the gesture should make the Kalabari people to get back to the drawing board and consolidate on existing inter and intra communal peace within the region.
According to the statement, Torusarama Piri was the first place where the founding fathers of Kalabari converged from different cultures, tribes and backgrounds. Adding that those saying that the Kalabari people are not united should think again.
” As the different founding fathers were able to form a formidable ethnic nationality, modern day Kalabari should be able to sink the differences between the constituent communities and with other non-Kalabari speaking neighbours to achieve the needed internal cohesion for development”. It states.
The Forum further congratulated Alabo Asari Dokubo on his recognition and urged him to use the opportunity to do even more for the Kalabari people and Rivers State as a whole.
According to the statement, the Forum is happy with the recognition of Dokubo Asari not because he is one of the patrons of the Forum, but because he is about the most Kalabari-centric figure living, who has also committed enormous resources for the protection of the Kalabari people.
They urged the Kalabari Se Kobiri and the entire people of the ethnic nationality to work with Alabo Dokubo Asari and put to rest speculations about Kalabari that some persons have exploited against the interest of the Kalabari people over the years.
