Crisis Rocks PDP’s Committee In Delta
The committee set up by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State chapter, over anti-party activities during the last general election in the state has met a brick wall.
The party hierarchy in the state, led by the Chairman, Kingsley Esiso, had set up the committee after series of protests by members over the failure of the party in some wards and local government areas.
The members of the committee, according to The Tide source findings, apart from being divided, are at loggerheads owing to personal interest, the situation that makes it impossible for them to come up with their findings or true position of things.
There is said to be threat from some members of the party to spill the beans even at the tribunal if the report of the committee implicated them, vowing to expose the party to make sure they do not go down alone.
The aggrieved PDP members, who do not want their names in print, lamented that their ordeal started when they bought interest forms, how the party came up with different fees, the manipulation of the primaries and the election to favour some candidates.
Why wondering why the party did not set up a committee to investigate the maltreatment then but want to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it, said the party in the state should be very careful to avoid a case of banana peel.
Trouble started when the party in the state set up a committee due to a call by some concerned PDP leaders of Oginibo, Ughelli South Council Area, called for the expulsion of former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, for working against the candidates of the party during the just concluded general elections.
