RSG Urges Communities To Secure World Bank Projects
The Rivers State Government has called on communities to secure World Bank projects sited in their areas.
Commissioner for Finance, Barrister Isaac Kamalu said this during the commissioning of classroom blocks and furniture embarked upon by Rivers State Government in conjunction with the World Bank/European Union (EU) at Igwuruta Secondary School Ikwerre Local Government Area.
Kamalu, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Jim Brown also called on the people of Igwuruta to count themselves lucky to have benefited from World Bank Project.
He also advised the youths of the community to desist from further vandalisation of projects sited in their communities.
In his address, the Project Director, Community Driven Development Social Project Implementation Unit (CDDS-PIU) Ministry of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Rivers SEEFOR, Sir. ThankGod Amaewhule said the hall would serve as a gathering place for students, morning devotion and all other social activities.
Amaewhule particularly said; “The Parents Teachers Associations that does not have a meeting place can now heave a sigh of relief.”
He said the hall would also be useful in both internal and external examinations.
The Project Director however called on the people to sustain and secure the project from vandalisation.
The Nyenweli of Igwuruta Community, Eze (Professor) S. N. Nwekhe, thanked the World Bank/European Union for the gesture.
Eze Nwekhe assured that the project would be protected against vandalisation.
