Cleric Identifies Selfishness As Bane Of Nation’s Dev
A clergy man in Rivers State, Apostle Ezenna Iwueke has identified greed, selfish interest and disobedience as factors militating against the development of the country, saying that the country was blessed with abundant resources that would take care of its citizens.
Iwueke also said the various agitations by people clamouring for secession, resource control, restructuring of the country, and insecurity were attributable to marginalisation and inequality in the country, adding that disobedience and dishonesty by the privileged individuals in the society was responsible for the agitations currently going on across the country.
He stated this while delivering sermon at a church service held to celebrate the 2021 Feast of Passover (PESACH) at the Order of God of Abraham Ministry, Abel Jumbo in Port Harcourt with the theme, “Restoration of the Bible Truth”, last Saturday.
The clergy, who took his Bible reading from the book of Malachi 3:4 – 18, and Luke 16:22-23, highlighted the importance of the Passover feast in the life of Christians, adding that the doctrines and teachings of Abrahamism have come to stay.
According to him, the church’s mission is for the restoration and teachings of the biblical truths, and berated the inferences and disunity among Christians.
“Our father, Abraham laid foundation for unity that we may be one. God called him out and showed him a city that we may be blessed. We shall know the truth, and it shall set us free. We all claim to be Abraham’s seed but do not work in righteousness.
“We have become rebellious and rejected the truths, and we are being punished. If we all understand that Christians and Muslims are one, the society will know peace”, he stated.
Iwueke commended the founder of the church, late Primate Albert Magnus Uranta, for the establishment of the church, adding that the church would continue in its mission, centred on teaching the Bible truths and evangelism.
The climax of the worship was prayer for the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, the state government, the state and the country.
