Group Tasks Citizens On Support For Oyigbo Chairman, Councillors
As the new administration of the Executive Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Council of Rivers State, Hon. Okechukwu Akara, tries to settle and face the developmental challenges in the LGA, a Non-Governmental Organisation in the area, the Nigeria Legion has solicited for the support and cooperation of people of the LGA to enable him and his team succeed in the task of governance ahead.
Speaking with journalists in Okoloma-Afam recently, Chairman of Oyigbo Chapter, Major Israel Nwuche (rtd), stated that the new government required the support, prayers and encouragement from the people of the area, just as it was given to past administrations to enable it achieve the desired objectives of taking the Local Government Area to the next level of genuine transformation.
Nwuche, who expressed confidence that the new Chairman and Councillors had the wherewithal and enough experiences to consolidate on the great achievements recorded by the council boss and even break new grounds, maintained that such informed the reasons why they collectively worked to ensure their victory at the polls.
He further explained that given the pedigree of the new chairman as an administrator, manager of human and material resources, the people of Oyigbo LGA should begin to count themselves lucky and prepare their mind to work with them to enable them reap the dividends of democracy in proper perspectives.
Nwuche disclosed that with the emergence of the new dispensation in the area, the Chairman will take the LGA out of stagnation and under-development to the path of stability, progress, peace and development.
According to him, “the administration should focus on the infrastructural development of the rural communities in the LGA”.
Meanwhile, the group has congratulated Hon. Okechukwu Akara, as Executive Chairman of Oyigibo LGA, describing him “as development catalyst of the 21st century”, and urged the people to support him to succeed.
In a related development, the Nigeria Legion, Oyigbo Chapter, has stated that Rivers State under Governor Nyesom Wike remained outstanding in Nigeria, in terms of infrastructural development, restoration of peace and progress in the state, as well as the transformation of human and material resources for the well-being of the people, especially many roads construction, rehabilitation and the provision of dividends of democracy for the people.
The group, through its leader, Major Israel Nwuche assured the preparedness of the body to work in tandem with the Hon. Okechukwu Akara – led government to move the LGA forward developmentally, but admonished him to partner with the legion in policy formulation and implementation process for effective results.
