Staff Hail Okrika Council Chairman For Outstanding Performance
Staff of works department, Okrika Local Government Area have commended the Executive Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area, Hon. Akuro Alfred Tobin, for his monumental achievements in office.
The workers stated this during a courtesy visit to the chairman in his office.
The workers lauded the chairman for his outstanding performance in the council.
In her address, Director of Works, Madam Nwokogba Okwuchi Love thanked the chairman for reconstruction, furnishing and equipping of the Department of Works.
She described the visit as unique and first of its kind.
The Director said the staff and workers in the department have been given a great facelift and brand new look, compared to other years when the workers and visitors were unable to have access to offices, stating that visitors of the department were stopped outside the premises and sometimes at the council gate, this is because the council was very dirty and unkempt as the works department in particular had collapsed.
She noted that the chairman had changed the narratives of the council as Okrikans now hear good news emanating from the council on the radio and other media outlets.
Responding, the Chairman, Hon Akuro Tobin commended the staff of the Works Department for the visit.
He noted that his administration has plan for infrastructural development in various capacities of the council and the LGA at large.
Tobin urged the staff to be patriotic and pursue peace, which is a priceless possession, as disunity would only continue to deprive the council and local government of developments.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of an Award of Excellence to the council chairman by the staff.
Present at the visit were Engr. Idawarifaka George; Engr. Inis Fraser Egba; Engr. Patience Bapakaye; Arch. Tamunoimama Tobin; Engr. Omoni, Bapakaye Lawrence, Boma Erema; among others.
