Edo LG Polls: EDSIEC Meets Stakeholders, Aug 24
The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) has said it has fixed August 24 for a meeting with relevant stakeholders.
The commission, in a statement in Benin by its Administrative Secretary, Sunday Osayande, said the meeting would be part of preparations for the local government elections, scheduled to hold September 2 at the EDSIEC conference hall.
“This is to inform the general public that the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission is organising a stakeholders’ meeting scheduled for August 24.
“The first session of the meeting, which will hold from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, will be attended by chairmen and secretaries of political parties, civil society organisations (CSOs) and security agencies.
“The second session, which will hold from 2.00pm to 5.00pm will have other stakeholders, including leaders of market women, professional associations, NGOs, youth associations and religious bodies.
