Our Administration Will Be Driven By Youth Mentorship -Fubara
Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has promised to make youth mentorship a focus of his administration.
Speaking through the State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom, at the 2023 International Youth Day celebration tagged, “Green Skills For Youths: Towards Sustainability and Growth”, at the weekend in Port Harcourt, Fubara said youths need to be mentored properly for leadership.
The Governor stated that as leaders of tomorrow, youths need to be armed with skills and knowledge that will help them to fill in leadership positions in the the future.
He, therefore, commended the State Ministry of Youths Development for organising the one-day conference, noting that the theme is apt and very important to the current realities in the country.
While urging youths to support government programmes, Fubara assured them of being carried along in governance.
“There is hope for youths of Nigeria”, he declared.
On his part, Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Martin Amaewhule, speaking through his Parliamentary Secretary, said they will make good laws that will help drive youth development in the state.
Amaewhule urged the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) to maintain its role in leading youths towards improving governance and better welfare for future generation.
Royal Father of the day and Nyeweli of Rumuogba Kingdom, Eze Temple Ejekwu, said what is important for youths now is good conduct and exemplary lifestyle capable of creating opportunities for them in the future.
The royal father stressed that without good conduct, it will be difficult for youths to fill leadership positions, hence, they need to live exemplary lifestyle.
The State NYCN Chairman, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, thanked the state Ministry of Youth Development for the programme, advising the youths to always be ambassors of peace in their various local government areas.
