Ikwerre Media Workers Renew Support To RSNC Growth
Workers of Ikwerre extraction at the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), have renewed their mandate in committed service to boost the growth of the newspaper industry.
The Ikwerre workers who spoke through the chairman of Ogbakor Ikwerre Media Workers, RSNC chapter, Sir Samuel Eleonu, at a special get together session/election said RSNC needs maximum cooperation of all workers to make the corporation the toast of the industry.
In his post-election speech, Eleonu said no effort should be spared in re-positioning RSNC for good so that the vision and labour of the founding fathers should not go in vain.
Eleonu commended the state government in keeping The Tide afloat over the years even when other states newspaper houses had gone under ground, but appealed to government to expedite action in equipping the corporation with modern facilities to enable it perform effectively and efficiently in newspapering.
In her remarks, Mrs Blessing Ejiowhor who was elected Treasurer of the Association specifically charged the Ikwerre media workers to leave a legacy of quality service and hardwork in any area of their posting.
She reiterated the need for all workers irrespective of ethnic divide to support management and government in turning around the fortunes of RSNC.
Other officials elected at the session include John Loveday, Vice Chairman, Onyema John Nehuje, Secretary, Abraham Amesi, Assistant Secretary and Stella Amadi, Financial Secretary. The others are Patricia Wonodi, Legal Adviser, Grace Enyinda, Public Relations Officer andCharity Okam, Provost.
