Amaechi Charges Christians On Steadfastness

nor, Rt. Hon. Chubuike Amaechi, has charged Christian faithfuls, to hold onto God in prayers if they must succeed.
He gave made the charge while speaking at the dedication of a new church building of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Rumuola Parish in Port Harcourt, last Sunday.
Represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Sir Tony Okocha, the Governor who read the first lesson explained that the best place to invest in life was in the vineyard of God, saying, “God can never abandon His children who open- mindedly contribute towards the progress of the church”.
The State Chief Executive lauded members of the church who despite their low population and income were able to build a befitting edifice for God and the comfort of members.
“Christians should strive as much as they can because they are cross carriers, they should live exemplary lives, impact on the lives of others who are not Christians so as to convert them to Christendom”, he said.
While dedicating the church building, the Dean, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev’d. Ignatius Kattey, expressed joy that the 11-year old project with 2,000 capacity as well as office accommodation had come to fruition.
The Archbishop who was in company of his wife, Beactrice, also dedicated the baptismal font, pool, lectern, pulpit prayer desk, choir stall and the Holy table.
Taking his text from Psalm 102:verses 1-3, Bishop Kattey, said the feat achieved by members of the church was an eloquent testimony of their commitment to God’s work.
He warned Christians not to allow the quest for personal aggrandizement lure them into sinn stressing that the coming of Jesus Christ is at hand”.
The Vicar of the church, Rev Canon Sullivan Odike, said the church would focus its attention on winning more converts to Christ having successfully completed and dedicated the church building.
He expressed gratitude to God for making it possible for the project to be completed and also thanked the chairman of the Works/Dedication Committee, Joe Anosikeh and other members of the church for their sacrifice and support.
The event featured choir rendition and prayers.
