Authority To Commence Enforcement Of On-Duty Card
The security department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, has said it will commence the enforcement of On-Duty-Card (ODC) on all persons entering the restricted areas of the airport.
In a circular signed by the Head of Department of Aviation Security, Mr. Omo said all companies must have completed procedures of getting its On-Duty-Card before Sunday November 8, 2009, adding that, enforcement commences on November 9, 2009.
The On-Duty-Card, which generated controversy following the process of getting certifications from the Nigerian Police before issuance is made has made the process cumbersome.
Meanwhile, some airlines officials, who have not competed the process have ased the authority to allow them some time to complete the process.
But the authority has insisted that enforcement commence today Monday.
Meanwhile, the contractor handling the perimeter fencing at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa has commenced work.
