Police Dismiss Alleged Bombing Of Ebilade Filling Station
The alleged bombing of Ebilade Petrol Station two weeks ago was noting but hoax aimed at scoring political points.
The commissioner of Police, incharge of Bayelsa Police Command Elder Udenka Onuoha who stated this while briefing newsmen in his office said that following the news of the incident, he dispatch bomb experts to the scene only for them to discover that normal business was going on.
Nothing, he said was discovered by the experts to show that the place was bombed, adding that even the incident was not reported in any police station.
Ebilade, a petrol station owned by Hon Peremobowei Ebebi, the deputy governor of the state was alleged bombed by unknown gun men as an aftermath of the violence that erupted in Ekeremor local government area over the result of PDP local government primary elections.
The Tide learnt that the outcome of the election has further widened the gap in the fragile relationship between the deputy governor and his boss.
Meanwhile the two gladiators have moved their battle ground to Abuja, where a peace parley was said to have hit the rock as non of them was ready to shift ground to enable peace reign.
However, The Tide authoritative learnt that the factional chairman of state chapter of PDP, Chief Rufus Abadi who had earlier maintained his distance from the party’s primaries compiled and submitted his own list of those he claimed to have scaled the primaries election, he conducted to state independent electoral commission.
In the list claimed to have been endorsed at Abuja has two former council chairmen, with name of a popular comedian whose name was included in the list of contestant conspicuous missing.
As the battle rages on, most party members refused to comment on the issue as most of the people contacted claimed either to be in Abuja or not disposed enough to talk on the issue.
