Perm Sec Identifies Discipline As Dev. Bedrock
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development, Mr Dan Ibubeleye, has identified discipline and hard work as tools of development in the society.
Ibubeleye made the assertion during a sendforth party organised to honour some retiring staff of the ministry held at the office in Port Harcourt, Friday.
The Permanent Secretary stressed that discipline and hardwork improves capacity adding that there is always a reward for hardwork.
He re-stated the commitment of the ministry in capacity building to enhance the productivity of the staff.
Mr Ibubeleye urged the staff to reciprocate the gesture by being dedicated to their duties warning that absenteeism among staff would not be tolerated.
He lauded the retirees for their performances while in service and advised them to continue to be good ambassadors of the ministry and the civil service.
He disclosed that the sendforth was organised to appreciate their contributions to while in service as well as to encourage other staff of the ministry who are still in service.
In their various speeches, Mrs. Josephine Chukwuigwe and Mrs Ruhuoma Kejeh, Director of Adminsitration and Assistant Director respectively, called on other staff to work towards living a legacy in the ministry adding that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice.
They advised the staff of the ministry to see service delivery as an opportunity to serve their fatherland noting that the retirees have left an unprecedented mark in the ministry.
Responding on behalf of the retirees, the out-going Director of Administration, Mr. Kessiah Odum while appreciating the mnistry’s gesture maintained that retirement is a good thing.
He urged the management of the ministry to continue with the re-trainning of staff in order to achieve the desired goals of the ministry.
