Egi Youths President Pledges Good Governance
The new president of Egi Youth Federation (EYF) in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Comrade Akoku Alfred Umah has pledged to run an all inclusive administration and also introduce new innovations that will give the body a focused direction to progress.
Comrade Umah who spoke after receiving hand-over notes from his predecessor at the organisation’s office in Ogbogu, last Friday said he would use the opportunity given to him, to redirect the activities of youths in the area to positive ventures which includes giving support to government programmes and policies.
He stated that after the hazzles and intrigues of the election, it is expected that all those genuinely interested to develop Egi clan could join his team in the task of providing selfless services to the people.
According to him, in carrying out the duties reposed on them, there would be no “favoured” persons as everybody is expected to contribute positively, warning that those who will like to be stumbling block would be pushed aside.
He said that he will not tolerate any distractions from any youth that choses the path of criminality and also called on the multi-national oil firms and their contractors to brace up to their social responsibility to the people.
The president, commended both the election committee, the immediate past executives, the founding fathers of the organisation and the various community youths for the peaceful election, promising that by God’s grace, we shall not disappoint you”.
Also speaking a former councillor, Hon Sunny Ogide, urged the new executive to live up to expectation by avoiding trivial issues but ensuring that peace reigns in the area.
Hon. Ogide urged them to carry everybody along, and also initiate projects and programmes that would ensure future prospects for Egi youths.
Earlier, in his hand-over speech, the former president, Comrade Kenneth Isaac wished the new executives and the entire youths body well.
