… To Intensify Workers Training
The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Mr George Feyii, says workers productivity would be boosted by the Chibuike Amaechi led administration with emphasis on training and re-training of government workforce.
Addressing staffers in his office on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Mr Feyii emphasized that workers effectiveness and productivity would be given serious attention in order to achieve the goals of the present administration.
Against this backdrop, he solicited staffers in his office to put in their best while noting that the office of the SSG is a sensitive one and most live up to its billings as the engine room of government.
In the words of Mr Feyii, “the strength of the chain is the strength of the weakest link. Every person is important to apply his or herself at all times to discharge his or her duties”.
The SSG who stated that the meeting was aimed at addressing and eliminating hiccups in the running of the office urged workers to proffer ways in injecting effectiveness in service delivery.
After listening to submissions from the staffers, the SSG averred that the issue of transportation, IT development would be addressed as he requested the Permanent Secretary in the office to conduct orientation and training for new staffers in order to adequately school them on their duties.
Speaking earlier, Permanent Secretary in the Special Services Bureau, Mr Sovens Okari assured that staffers would work assiduously to achieve the vision of the new scribe of the state government.
He stressed that with the sensitive nature of the office workers would not fail on delivering their responsibilities.
The same view was expressed by Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office, Ms Kadilo Brown who lauded the SSG for organizing the forum to enhance communication as it would boost workers morale.
Ms. Brown remarked that,” Communication goes a long way because it eases tension and make things work better.”
The Permanent Secretary tasked Mr Feyii to always seek the opinion of workers under him since that would improve relations and synergy within the various units.
She added that such meetings are required in the future as it would provide workers the opportunities to ventilate their feelings.
